On Dying, Death and Planning My Funeral
As I twitted last week, my husband's grandmother passed away.
And being the self-centered person that I am, the last few days I thought of how I want things to be done when it's my turn to push up daisies.
[Okay, I'm not that self-centered. I did thank her (in my prayers) for having Darice as her first favorite great-granddaughter, doting over Darice without really spoiling her :) And I wished her a nice trip to the heavens :)]
First off, if I know I'm already dying, I want to have a living funeral. I haven't read or watched Tuesdays with Morrie though -- I learned of it from a Nicholas Cage movie, The Weather Man.
Yeah, I want to hear those nice things before I die! I want to know if ever I was *that* important to people, if I meant anything to those people who I care for dearly, and if my (short) life wasn't that wasted. I want to know if *all of it* meant something, not only to me, but to my family and friends and the people around me. Yes, I want to be validated -- let me feel good before I die, whydoncha?

Blogging with my iPod Touch
Since commuting home tonight is a bitch, I decided to while away the time in a coffee shop and play around with my iPod touch.
And wow I am totally convinced it was money well spent :D
Although I still need to get used to the "keyboard".
I haven't fully utilized yet the 16GB capacity as I need to convert the videos I want to watch -- it takes an hour and a half to convert an hour long episode. Also I want to organize my mp3s and put in the album artwork.
I also want to try to jailbreak my ipod touch. I hope I don't mess it up though so I need more research on that.
Okay that's it for now. Really having a hard time typing already.

Three Desktops

So the tag is all about what your PC/notebook desktop looks like.
I use one PC at work and 2 PCs and a laptop at home -- I know, andami noh? But I'm going to share 3 of those desktops only, as the other PC at home is my husband's.
First up is my work PC's desktop.
Desktop image is provided by our client and we really don't have any choice about that :P
Look at the numerous files on my desktop! Most of them are text files wherein I save some sort of information I might need later on -- test data, locals, interface terminology, etc. It's a mess, just like my real desk top, but I get work done, I promise!
Darice and I share the laptop at home. Well, she mostly uses it, as she loves to lie on her stomach while watching Youtube videos or playing those Nick, Jr. games.
The desktop layout is from Shabby Princess. She posts these desktop layouts every month on her blog, and it's free! Darice loves the pictures I use of her for the laptop desktop -- sometimes, she helps me in picking out the pictures I should use :)
If you can see, the laptop is littered with shortcuts for games because of Darice, but has also work-related software (Visio and remote-access Mainframe) because of me.
Now this is my own PC's desktop image. I got it thru a link from Geeksugar eons ago.
Why do you think I picked it? Is it because it's a painting called Irises by Vincent Van Gogh? Is it because it's a "beautiful study full of air and life"?
Or just because the flowers are purple? :D
My PC is very bare as it's a hand-me-down from the hubby after he bought his spankin' new system last June. I have just installed the essentials: Firefox, Photoshop, Picasa, YM!, iTunes, Nokia PC Suite and the Flickr Uploader. I don't have any Office software installed -- I don't plan to use this for work at all! :P

Final Words
This is going to be rambling and messy even though I've been trying for some days now to really organize my thoughts on the issue at hand.
I even went to a coffee shop to get the juices flowing, but I spent an hour just smoking, eating potato wedges, smoking, drinking coffee, smoking, staring at the screen, and smoking some more.
