My ex is not who you think that person might be.

Maybe I should stop being paranoid.

I love to go out on a insanely crazy date with my husband.

I don’t understand why my feet get manas when I drink cocktails.

I lose track of time when I surf internet gossip sites -- that's why I'm always running late in the morning!

Love is something you should always work on.

Somewhere, someone is thinking of me. Naks.

Forever is too far along in the future to happen.

I never want to live my life unfulfilled.

When I wake up, the first thing I hear is Black Eyed Peas' Bebot. It's my alarm tune.

My past can be written into an award-winning telenovela screenplay.

I get annoyed when people think too highly of themselves.

Parties are my outlet for dancing and drinking and acting bangenge.

Kisses are the best when they are just for kissing, and not leading to anything.

I really want to eat bulalo kanina for dinner!

I have low tolerance for people who are two-faced. Tupperwares. Rubbermaids. Orocan. Heheh.

Tomorrow I'm going shopping! :)

A Change Would Do You Good

Finally, the promo letters arrived yesterday, and all I can (allow myself to) say right now is that my expectations were exceeded, and that I got that little extra something I was hoping for.

Amen.

As I've mentioned in an earlier blog post, a certain someone is getting ready to graze on another (and greener!) pasture. And so, turnover sessions, here we go again! Haha, he did say I was already a league-leader in turnovers hehehe.

I guess I'm thankful he's turning over his extensive knowledge of our e-systems to four of us in the office. I don't think I would've been able to cope with the information overload :P

And I guess an opportunity for me to finally learn the in's and out's of our e-systems, from the business process, down to every command in the code. Hahaha, good luck sakin!

Unfortunately, our Vigan and Pagudpud trip with the camera club is down the drain.

Sadness!

And our back-up Zambales trip is still on the rocks because we can't find a damn resort -- all of them are fully booked! We did find a fan room for eight people, but they only had a common bathroom -- as in common to all the people in the resort!!! *faints*

But I finally got the number of the resort where Drei and his friends stayed when they went to Zambales! Wish us luck tomorrow when I call the resort, sana meron pang available rooms!

Last weekend, my hubby and I went to Greenhills to buy accessories for the PSP (long, issue-filled story that I'd rather not talk about) and the nano. We argued about something (which I guess is related to the PSP issue-filled story), and I got really pissed off at him.

When I've calmed myself a bit, I asked him if we could have a smoke. I was so pissed off then, I didn't really care if he got pissed off too. I *needed* one to considerably calm myself down. [Non-smokers, don't try this at home. Stir ko lang yan sa sarili ko. :P]

Pumayag sya.

I don't know if he's a convert already, or that he's just trying to please me because he knew I was irritated, or that he just wanted to buy that Dunhill two-pack with the free lighter.

I got my curly curls relaxed to my more natural and original wavy curls last Saturday at Azta Urban Salon at Metrowalk.

I was just going to have a haircut, a mani and a pedi, but my curls were irritating me na, so I decided to have them relaxed na lang.

Well, my hair wasn't exactly relaxed, in the strict sense of the word wherein a relaxing agent was used. The stylist used a perming agent on my hair, then he combed my hair, which "relaxed" the curls into the larger and more natural waves!!! Coolness! Yey, no more kinky hair for me! :D

This is going to be the last time I'm going to spend a fortune on my hair. Aside from the "relax", I got the intensive conditioning treatment because my hair was so dry daw (so what's new?!? hehe}. And of course the cut.

I have no complaints with the salon (aside from the freezing temp!) -- they have friendly stylists, my hair turned out the way I wanted it to, and they have free drinks! :D I might get a 'cut here more often since it's so near the office. I could have a haircut during lunch time na lang diba? :)

Oh and a high school classmate reviews Azta's rebonding services.

Last night was the first time I ever played a serious game of badminton.

And may be the last time! Hahahah :))

I pity my partner, really. I was just standing there watching the shuttlecock being passed back and forth.

But I made a really whapak smash shot on our second set, ha! And hindi nasalo ng kalaban! Yun yun eh! Ahahahahhaha!

And now my right shoulder is hurting kasi ang yabang ko daw eh. Weheheheh.

Aaaargh. I so need to lose weight. As in. I am as heavy as I was when I had Darice in my tummy during my last trimester.

But then, I had a baby in my tummy.

Eh ngayon meron ba?

The 'Pod

I'm giving up my CD player and embracing the 'pod.

Yup, thanks to my dear parents, I am now a proud owner of an iPod Nano. It's white (I would've wanted black), and just has a 1GB capacity (I wanted 4GB sana -- but the price of that would almost be the equivalent of the 30GB iPod video, so di talaga sulit), but well, beggars can't be choosers. Why complain when they so generously bought it for me? Hehehe.

Now the hard part is choosing what songs to put inside my Nano. Right now, I have Alicia Keys' Unplugged, Mariah Carey's The Emancipation of Mimi, Jamie Foxx's Unpredictable, and Black Eyed Peas' Monkey Business. Ooh, and I put in songs from the Top 100 Dance Hits torrent hehehe.

I also made a playlist of my favorite bouncin' hip-hop and R&B songs -- I named it bounce. Then for my ehem, favorite (blech) love songs -- they're under the ugh - love playlist. Hehe.

And since it's summer and all, I'm trying to build my summer playlist. This would be those songs that remind you of the sweat and heat of the summer, with the wind on your face on the beach. It can also be about that summer romance that went pffft, or that wondrous bonding time with a bunch of friends during a road trip. Or just lazing around on a balmy sunny afternoon.

Right now, I only have 15 songs for this playlist, and some of them are: Summer Nights from the movie Grease by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, Wouldn't It Be Nice and Kokomo by the Beach Boys (a summer playlist won't be complete without the Beach Boys, I think), Summer of '69 by Bryan Adams and A Lighter Shade of Brown's On a Sunday Afternoon.

Help me out guys. Know any songs that should be included in the ultimate "summer" playlist? :)

Runner-up!

So the photo class met again after work today, to share the pictures we took when we went to Baywalk two weekends ago.

We were instructed to pick our top three photos to submit in an open-category photo "contest" within the class. Then the class picked their favorite photos, while Vic Sison, our lecturer, served as the "official" judge.

I am so *giddy* that the top three photos I chose to be submitted got into the top five :D

Baywalk in Mono 30
This came in 4th in the top 5 choices of the class.

Baywalk in Mono 15
This one naman was 4th in the top 5 choices of our judge...

Baywalk in Mono 2
...while this one came in 5th!

Ayun lang. Just wanted to gloat lang ng onti dito sa blog.

---

Next week, we need to submit the kalye pics for the "serious" contest already. The class will choose the top 5 (or top 3 lang ata) then we'll submit those to the official FPPF contest.

Eeek. I don't have kalye pics -- you know, the gritty, photo-journalistic pics of street life. I want my photos sana to center around the commuter's life -- the jeeps, people at the waiting shed, the endless smoke coming from the tambutchos. I hope I have the time (and courage!) to do my shots this week.

---

The class is also planning an outing for the long weekend on starting April 29. Next month's theme for the contest is travel and what better way to take travel photos but during an outing right? They're aiming for Vigan, Pagudpod and Cagayan :D

Sana matuloy!!!

Memories of Childhood

The Old KeysIt was my neighbor's kid who had the piano lessons first. And then I was just being the saling-pusa that I am -- I distinctly remember the piano teacher giving me a few pointers already at my neighbor's house.

I guess my neighbor complained to my parents because I was freeloading :P Hahah. Or maybe the teacher saw some "potential" and told my parents about it.

And so, one weekend in Cubao (I can hear/see Fiesta Carnival in my memory bank right now), we bought a decent piano, for me to develop my musical abilities. We officially hired the piano tutor, and when I got to pre-school, they enrolled me in the music center.

After four memorized piano pieces, two recitals, countless finger exercises (so that I'd hit the piano keys in just the right way -- not too soft, not too hard), and endless practices, I gave up piano lessons in my third grade. Maybe I got bored, or maybe my mom saw no more reason for me to continue, but I just dropped everything related to piano.

But, I can still play the first few bars of my first recital piece, I still have those long pianist's fingers, and I can still read musical notes. I'm so grateful my parents gave me this grand old thing years ago -- I wouldn't know music without it.

Kenny RogersThe BeatlesPaul Anka

And I wouldn't know what cool music was without my dad's vinyls.

We had so many Beatles' albums, Kenny Rogers, a few Paul Anka ones, a Simon and Garfunkel album, John Lennon's Imagine, Michael Jackson's Bad, Cyndi Lauper's True Colors, U2's The Joshua Tree, a few compilation albums (love songs, disco hits, most requested songs) and of course, his jazz albums. I embraced the Beatles and U2, while I was already mildly interested in Michael Jackson and Cyndi Lauper (this was around the 1990's). Sayang, I wasn't able to appreciate his jazz albums. I guess I got too sleepy or bored when he played those hehehe.

A few years ago, I wanted to make bags with the album covers of dad's vinyls and record bowls with the plaka themselves. Good thing he put some sense into me, and made me realize that these albums are relics. And a reminder to both of us on how he passed on his love of music to me.

Click here, here and here for the bigger versions so you can see the book titles ;)

Love for music is not the only thing that my Dad passed on to me -- I got my love of reading from him, too. Who wouldn't love to read if you had these many books inside the house? [Those are just his old books, meron pa syang newer collection downstairs in his room, and randomly distributed in my sisters' bedrooms. And meron pang nasa kin din pala. Hehe.]

He had a wide variety of tastes in books -- he had the classics like The Brothers Karamzov, Crime and Punishment, Great Exptectations, Anna Karenina, and a really ancient copy of Homer's The Odyssey. He's got the science fiction books (mostly short story compilations), chick lit (Margaret Atwood's Dancing Girls and Edible Woman), scary stuff (Stephen King and Ann Rice), new age (The Handbook of Parapsychology, The Bible and Flying Saucers -- what the?) and a whole bunch of James Michener (Space, Alaska, Poland, The Source, Legacy, The Covenant, Texas, The Drifters, Journey, etc). I haven't even read half of those books on that shelf!

I am so going to inherit these books.

I've been staying in my family's house since Wednesday night, and I guess my "past" life haunted me. :)

I went out with my high school friends last Saturday night because apparently, someone from the group had an announcement to make. I figured, either she's getting married, she's pregnant or she's suddenly single. Hehehe.

Oh well, turned out she's getting married in July to her boyfriend of 11 years (!!!! second year high school pa lang kami sila na !!!!), hehehhe. What took them so long noh?

Margaritas were abundant that night, and therefore so were our kakulitan and kabastusan. Somebody was late, as she worked overtime, and had dinner with her boss pa. We texted her na baka she was having an affair na with her boss. Then she replied with, marami kaya kami dito. We told her, orgy na pala trip mo ngayon. When she arrived around 11pm, I greeted her with a "Ba't ang lagkit ng buhok mo?" :P Hahahaha. [Side kuwento, somebody asked kung umaabot ba daw "yon" dun (sa buhok) tas sabi ko depende sa posisyon. Hehehe. 'Diba? (We're all adults naman here na diba?)]

One of the memorable questions that night was this: which would you prefer, having D-cup breasts but having no nipples, or having them flat as pancakes but the nipples as big as tips of Mongol erasers?

So here are some of the pictures I took last Saturday for our street photography thingie for the camera club.

Baywalk in Color 20baywalk39Baywalk in Color 21baywalk27

Black and white versions can found in my Baywalk in Mono set. The technicolor versions can be found in the Baywalk in Color set.

The pics are not really that "street" -- they don't really portray "buhay kalye". Pero pili na rin kayo ng puede kong i-submit, ha? :)

Finally, after waiting for ten thousand years (well it felt that long since some of my batchmates received theirs yesterday pa), finally got ahold of my evaluations this afternoon.

No comment. Ahehehe. :P

And had the loooooooooongest feedback session ata in the history of mankind!!! Hahahahaha. :)) Pero andami kong nakuhang pointers, kaya magpapaka-GC (grade conscious) nako :P Wehehehe.

One last concern: Show me the money!!!

We'll be staying in Filinvest starting tomorrow night, so I don't know if I'll have time to blog -- since Darice and I will do some serious bonding this Holy Week :)

Happy long weekend y'all!

Hello Blog!

It's been more than two weeks since I last blogged with any coherent kuwento, save for the post below, wherein I just wanted to make my presence felt in the online world.

Hirap ng walang internet!!! Ayun lang. Pero kinaya ko for almost two weeks ha. And, kinaya ni Dar. Ehehehe.

---

Speaking of Dar, he's back on the night shift. Sadness :(

It really makes a difference at night, when he's sleeping beside me. Kaya siguro hirap akong gumising for the past month because it feels so good to sleep with my husband. Isipin nyo, from December to February, twice a week ko lang sya nakakatabi sa pagtulog, swertihan pa kung sasabay sya ng tulog sakin kasi nga ang gabi sakin eh umaga para sa kanya.

When his sched changed last March, and I learned that he got the morning shift, ang saya ko talaga! [Ako nga lang ata yung masaya eh. Eheheheh] 'Di ko lang sya makakatabi na makatulog, pero since pareho na kami ng time zone, makakalabas na kami :)

[Well, we did have more time to go out, pero it was mostly with his officemates. He wanted me to meet them, because I was going out of my mind already due to intense paranoia last February. Ganon nya kamahal officemates nya -- ayaw nyang pag-iisipan ko sila ng masama. Bitter ko ba? :P]

Ayun lang, malungkot lang talaga ako last week because I missed him so much. And I was resisting the urge to text constantly -- I don't want to be the needy person again. Blech.

Good thing I had those photography lessons to keep me busy -- or let's just say pre-occupied with something else.

During the first day, we learned about the technical side of photography. The relationship of ISO, aperture size, focal length and shutter speed. Which really didn't mean anything to me because the only thing I can directly control with my cam is the ISO. Anyways, I got some good pointers, and made me wanna go buy a new and more "manual" camera.

On the second day, it was all about the artistic side of photography. Framing, shapes, forms, colors, mood -- you really have to have an "eye" for a good picture. What I remembered most during this lesson was to always have curves and diagonal lines in your picture to denote movement.

Then last Saturday, we headed out to Manila's Baywalk for our street-photography photoshoot. For 2 hours, Andrei and I walked the streets of Manila (well, di naman buong Maynila, dun lang sa malapit sa CCP), trying to capture "buhay kalye", as this was the theme of the contest of the camera club for the month. [We have to submit our "buhay kalye" pictures in black and white pa, for drama effect. Aheheheh]

Mejo napressure nga ako, because this was the first time I was into "serious" photography, tapos jologs naman camera ko, tapos biglang may contest na kaagad! Hehehe. Oh well, haven't uploaded the pictures I took last Saturday because I want to do some simple Photoshop-ping muna, then I'll convert it to black and white pa. So I guess in the coming weeks, I'll be able to upload them.

I had a great time last Saturday. Taking pictures was only half of it; walking the streets of Manila, from CCP to Taft, with Andrei as my semi-guide [kasi di rin sya ganon ka-sure nung umpisa hehehe], was such an adventure! And a great work-out to boot! :) Nognog nga lang ako, kasi di ako nagsunblock :P

---

Last year, I received the news about two friends deciding the grass is greener on the other side of the fence on the same day. Double-whammy na naman last week. Again, two friends have made decision to eat the grass on the other side of the fence, and I got the news on the same day.

Wala namang ganyanan!!! Masyado akong naapektuhan eh. :P

Pero, really, made me sad talaga. One of them knows me well, as that person is reading my blog right now [ha! you fool! huli ka! balik sa trabaho! :P], malamang marami na syang nabasa dito na hindi ko naman talaga naikukuwento kanino man. You fool, mami-miss ko ang kasungitan mo sa office :P Hehehe.

The other one naman... well, let's just say, mababawasan na ang maniac sa office. Hahahah. Pero I mean that in a good way ha. Sana makapag-poker pa rin kami sa house nila. Actually yung magandang bahay nila ang mamimiss ko eh :P Weheheheh.

---

Ayun lang. That was my two weeks away from the online world. Marami pang ibang nangyari na ikinalungkot ko, ikinatuwa ko, ikinasaya ko at ikinaasar ko. Mostly on the negative side talaga. It was the time of the month last week, so my hormones were doing their raging thing, so I just get so pissed off so easily last week. Good thing nga we didn't have internet last week, or else, my blog would've been filled with ranting and hate-filled posts.

---

Looking forward to the long weekend ahead. I'll be house-sitting my parents' house this Holy Week, as my family are in Hongkong right now (saya nila noh? Oks lang, nabilhan naman na nila akong iPod Nano na 1GB hehehe). I'll take it as an opportunity to cook for Darice and Dar -- without snooty in-laws making pintas my experiments, hehehe.

Toodles, then :)

We have a photoshoot pa at Baywalk tomorrow early morning. My insides are turning to mush from the pressure of taking good pictures =z

Gotta hit the sack. My back hurts and I'm so sleepy na.

More kuwento, hopefully, when I wake up early tomorrow :)

Nighty-night y'all! :)
